Into your backpack go three things: binoculars, a map, and one big, juicy apple.

Boots on. Bag on. Off you go, Sammy! Listen, look, and tiptoe on.

Crunch, crunch, crunch! A tall giraffe eats breakfast from the treetop.

Stripe, stripe, stripe! The zebras gallop by. You wave hello.
- Muestra de arte
Blub, blub, blub. Hippos blow bubbles in the river.

Shhh! A lion naps in the shade. Snore... snore... Listen, look, and tiptoe on.
- Muestra de arte
Then you hear a tiny sound. Eep! Eep! What is that, Sammy?
- Muestra de arte
Who is making that sound? You peek behind the bush
- Muestra de arte
A baby elephant! Its big ears droop. Its little trunk wobbles.
- Muestra de arte
"Eep," says the baby elephant. It looks left. It looks right. Where is its mama?
- Muestra de arte
Your tummy flutters. The savanna is so big, and you are so small.
- Muestra de arte
But the baby needs help. You take a deep breath. "Don't worry. I'm Sammy. We will find your family."
- Muestra de arte
The baby's tummy rumbles. You share your big, juicy apple. Crunch! A tiny smile.
- Muestra de arte
You lift your binoculars. Look left. Look right. Only grass, grass, grass.
- Muestra de arte
The tall giraffe looks far, far away. Then she points her nose toward the river.
- Muestra de arte
Big round footprints! Stomp, stomp, stomp. You check your map and follow them.
- Muestra de arte
The footprints go into the river. The baby elephant shakes. It is scared of the water.
- Muestra de arte
You hold its trunk. "We can do it together." Step, step... splash! Brave Sammy!
- Muestra de arte
Across! But the footprints stop on the rocky ground. The sun sinks low and the shadows grow long. The baby sits down. Eep
- Muestra de arte
Your tummy flutters again. Then you remember, Sammy: Listen, look, and tiptoe on.
- Muestra de arte
You listen. Far away... HRRRUMMM!
- Muestra de arte
You look through your binoculars. Big gray shapes in the dust!
- Muestra de arte
You tiptoe on, up, up, up the hill
- Muestra de arte
The whole elephant family! The baby runs to its mama. Eep! Eep! HRRRUMMM!
- Muestra de arte
Mama elephant wraps you in a soft trunk hug. That means thank you, Sammy.
- Muestra de arte
Back at camp, the elephants wave their trunks goodbye. Under the stars, you smile
- Muestra de arte
Goodnight, savanna. Goodnight, Sammy. Tomorrow, a new adventure. Listen, look... and tiptoe to bed.
