Good morning, Sammy! A giant wooden boat stands on the hill. It is called an ark!
- Exemple d'illustration
The kind old builder asks, “Rain is coming. Will you help the animals?” You nod: yes!
- Exemple d'illustration
You bring three things, Sammy: a lantern, a soft blanket, and a bag of seeds.
- Exemple d'illustration
Stomp, stomp. Two elephants. Hop, hop. Two kangaroos. Waddle, waddle. Two penguins!
- Exemple d'illustration
Roar! Two lions. Hiss! Two snakes. Coo, coo... two little doves.
- Exemple d'illustration
One dove is very small. Bigger animals bump past. No one notices it hiding in a corner.
- Exemple d'illustration
You notice. You kneel down. “Hello, little one. I’m Sammy. You can stay with me.”
- Exemple d'illustration
Pitter, patter. The rain begins. The big door closes. THUD.
- Exemple d'illustration
Pitter, patter becomes SPLISH, SPLASH! The ark rocks and rolls on the waves.
- Exemple d'illustration
Thunder booms! The animals are scared. Even the lions hide their eyes.
- Exemple d'illustration
Your tummy wobbles too, Sammy. You are small, and the storm is so big.
- Exemple d'illustration
But even a small light can help. Click! You light your lantern. A warm glow fills the ark.
- Exemple d'illustration
You sing a soft song: “Two by two, we’ll make it through.” The animals calm down.
- Exemple d'illustration
The little dove shivers. You wrap it in your soft blanket.
- Exemple d'illustration
Day after day, it rains. You feed the animals. You sweep the hay.
- Exemple d'illustration
You feed the little dove seeds from your hand. Peck, peck. Little by little, it grows strong.
- Exemple d'illustration
One morning... the rain stops. Drip... drip... quiet.
- Exemple d'illustration
But all you see is water, water, water. Where is the land, Sammy?
- Exemple d'illustration
The kind old builder says, “Someone must fly and look for land.”
- Exemple d'illustration
The big birds are too tired. But the littlest dove hops onto your hand.
- Exemple d'illustration
“Small can do big things,” you whisper. “You can do it!” Whoosh! Away flies the little dove.
- Exemple d'illustration
You wait. And wait. And wait, Sammy... Look! A tiny speck in the sky!
- Exemple d'illustration
Flap, flap! The little dove is back, with a green leaf! Small, but so brave!
- Exemple d'illustration
Land is near! The animals cheer: moo, roar, quack, HOORAY, Sammy!
- Exemple d'illustration
Bump! The ark lands on a green hill. Two by two, the animals march out.
- Exemple d'illustration
A big rainbow stretches across the sky, a promise of sunshine and new beginnings.
- Exemple d'illustration
Be kind to every creature, big or small. Sometimes the smallest friend brings the biggest hope.

Two by two, we made it through. Goodnight, Sammy.
